Meet Dr. Lila Helen Kim, DDS

Dr. Kim is an accomplished oral surgeon who combines precise surgical care with functional medicine and whole-body dentistry for patients who see oral health as the foundation of long-term vitality. She has extensive experience in treating a wide range of patients and specializes in dental implants, bone preservation, wisdom teeth and complex extractions, airway and sleep-related care, and the management of chronic oral infection and inflammation, using minimally invasive, conservative techniques and thoughtfully chosen biocompatible materials. A 1996 graduate of Columbia University College of Dental Medicine, Dr. Kim completed the prestigious residency program for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at New York University/Bellevue Hospital Center. Upon completion, she obtained her diplomat status with the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in 2005 and has maintained her certification ever since. In addition, she has been Board Certified with the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology since 2005. Dr. Kim is an active member of the American Dental Association and is a Fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. She maintains active certification for ACLS, BLS, PALS.

Dr. Kim has a unique approach to serving her patients and recognizes that the mouth is closely connected to cardiovascular health, metabolic health, sleep, and healthy aging, so she looks for root causes rather than isolated symptoms and collaborates with your functional medicine physician, nutritionist, or primary care provider. She takes time to listen, explain your options, and build a plan around your health goals, not just your X-ray.

Dr. Kim practiced for many years in New York City and recently relocated to the Pacific Northwest to start a new chapter with a stronger connection to nature. In her free time, she enjoys hiking with her husband and two Shiba Inus, traveling, and exploring all that the Seattle area has to offer.
